{"id":144,"date":"2019-08-25T08:04:28","date_gmt":"2019-08-25T08:04:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.techcrm.in\/blogs\/?p=144"},"modified":"2020-09-08T14:55:35","modified_gmt":"2020-09-08T09:25:35","slug":"showing-related-modules-related-data","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.techcrm.in\/blogs\/showing-related-modules-related-data\/","title":{"rendered":"Showing related module&#8217;s related data"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>We came across a requirement where client wanted to see Contacts related to a Case at Account&#8217;s level. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That means, if I open an account, and it has a Case linked to it, I should be able to see the Contacts related to that Case right in the same subpanel. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Steps are as below,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 1<\/strong>: Is to create a non-db field in Cases module. Create a file in custom\/Extension\/modules\/Cases\/Ext\/Vardefs\/&lt;any_name>.php and write following code. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>&lt;?php\n$dictionary[\"Case\"][\"fields\"][\"contacts_non_db\"] = array (\n    'name' => 'contacts_non_db',\n    'type' => 'varchar',\n    'default'=> '',\n    'vname' => 'LBL_CONTACTS',\n    'reportable' =>true,\n    'source' => 'non-db'\n);<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 2<\/strong>: Place the field in subpanel. Go to Admin > Studio > Accounts > Subpanels > Cases and press Save. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><strong>Note :<\/strong><\/p><cite> We cannot find non-db fields here, so we need to change it from file manually. <\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>\n\nThis will create a file under custom\/modules\/Cases\/metadata\/subpanels\/Account_subpanel_cases.php<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Open that and add following code where you want to see your field. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>'contacts_non_db' => \n  array (\n    'name' => 'contacts_non_db',\n    'vname' => 'LBL_CONTACTS',\n    'width' => '30%',\n    'default' => true,\n    'sortable' => false,\n  ),  <\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 3<\/strong>: Now we need to give the value to the field. We need to create logic hook to process and display contacts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Check if you have logic_hooks.php under folder custom\/modules\/Cases? If no, create one and add following code. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>&lt;?php\n$hook_array['process_record'][] = Array(2, 'Show contacts', 'custom\/modules\/Cases\/showContacts.php','showContactsC', 'showContactsF'); <\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>Then create file at custom\/modules\/Cases\/showContacts.php and add following code in there. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>&lt;?php\nclass showContactsC{\n    function showContactsF($bean, $event, $args){\n        \/\/ fetching related contacts\n       $oContacts = $bean->get_linked_beans('contacts', 'Contacts');\n        \n        $contact = '';\n        \n        foreach($oContacts as $iContacts => $oContact)\n        {   \n            if($iContacts &lt; 3)\n                $contact .= \",&lt;a href = 'index.php?action=DetailView&amp;module=Contacts&amp;record=\".$oContact->id.\"'>\".$oContact->full_name.\"&lt;\/a>\";\n            else{\n                $contact .= ',...';\n                break;\n            }\n        }\n        $bean->contacts_non_db = substr($contact,1);\n    }\n}<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 4:<\/strong>  Do Quick Repair and Rebuild <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> There you are!
