In addition to offering the capability to perform administration tasks such as creating, editing, or deleting databases, and managing users and permissions, phpMyAdmin provides a graphical user interface to do all of these tasks and more. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"> Installing phpMyAdmin<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"> <strong>Step 1: Install phpMyAdmin<\/strong> <\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p> First, you\u2019ll follow a simple best practice: ensuring the list of available packages is up to date before installing anything new. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>sudo apt-get update<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>\n\nThen it\u2019s a matter of just running one command for installation via apt-get:\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>sudo apt-get install phpmyadmin<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"> <strong>Step 2: Basic Configuration<\/strong> <\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>As the installation runs you\u2019ll be asked a few simple questions regarding the basic configuration of phpMyAdmin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the first screen, select&nbsp;<strong>apache2<\/strong>&nbsp;by using the spacebar, then hit&nbsp;<strong>enter<\/strong>&nbsp;to continue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"384\" src=\"https:\/\/www.techcrm.in\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/How-To-Install-and-Secure-phpMyAdmin-on-Ubuntu-12.04-01.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-31\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>At the second screen, which asks \u201cconfigure the database for phpMyAdmin with dbconfig-common?\u201d, select&nbsp;<strong>Yes<\/strong>, then hit&nbsp;<strong>enter<\/strong>&nbsp;to continue.    <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"384\" src=\"https:\/\/www.techcrm.in\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/How-To-Install-and-Secure-phpMyAdmin-on-Ubuntu-12.04-02.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-32\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In this third screen enter your administrative password this is also the MySQL root (admin) user password, hit&nbsp;<strong>enter<\/strong>&nbsp;to continue.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"384\" src=\"https:\/\/www.techcrm.in\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/How-To-Install-and-Secure-phpMyAdmin-on-Ubuntu-12.04-03.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-33\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Finally, at the fourth screen set the password you\u2019ll use to log into phpMyAdmin, hit&nbsp;<strong>enter<\/strong>&nbsp;to continue, and confirm your password.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"384\" src=\"https:\/\/www.techcrm.in\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/How-To-Install-and-Secure-phpMyAdmin-on-Ubuntu-12.04-04.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-34\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"> <strong>Step 3: Finish the Configuration of Apache<\/strong> <\/h4>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>vim \/etc\/apache2\/apache2.conf<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p> Add the following to the bottom of the file: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code># phpMyAdmin Configuration\nInclude \/etc\/phpmyadmin\/apache.conf<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>Then exit and save the file with the command&nbsp;<strong>:wq<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Restart Apache 2 with the following command:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>sudo service apache2 restart<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p> Verify that phpMyAdmin is working by visiting the_IP_of_your_server\/phpmyadmin.
